Another way to have late blooms?

McGregor, IA(Zone 4b)

i had a couple of DL's that I potted up last fall because they needed to regrow their roots. (Yanked out a scape and the whole fan pulled off.) Set the pot by the garage and after it froze, set it inside and left it all winter. Didn't know if they would regrow or not; but they did and I planted them out this summer. Well, now they are blooming! Might be a way to get late bloom, if I could figure out exactly what is going on...

Caitlin, I hate when that happen, so I carry a cutter from sears to cut the scapes off, count the bud scars and then send them off to the local compost site. What's he name of the plant?

Why do you hate it? Do you think the bloom cycle has been reset or just for this season?

I think of it as one scape less for this season or possible rebloom.

The plant is just a noid - nice but I have bunches of it. Grew from Park's seed years ago. But why do you think it is blooming out of season?
