I have more patty pan squash developing (mold) than those that grow normally. I have a drip watering system throughout my garden that runs 3 times a week for about 20 minutes. How do I prevent this on my still growing plants?
Thanks.
patty pan squash problems
ive been getting this same issue with my yellow crookneck they get all fuzzy then just mush up. I am suspecting the relentless rain weve been getting in my case
Looks like regular grey mold or Botrytis but that usually doesnt affect squash.
The main fruit diseases in squash are Plectosporium, Pythium and Phytophthora but they usually dont look like that even when they sporilate.
There is a newer disease called Choanephora. But looks different.

For all fungal diseases I would reduce watering...particularly near the fruits. Also apply copper or a fungicide such as daconil (chlorothalonil) on a 7 day applicationn schedule. Could try placing fruits on a board to keep them high off the moist soil.
Makes sense. We had a long spell of very foggy weather.
