What a remarkably beautiful bloom!!! I have questions about it, if you please. I read under "Information", it says "Type of plant: Alpines...". To me, the word "Alpine" indicates cold; could be cold nights, could be snow, could be dry cold. Am I off base?

On the other hand, everything else I find about it shows that it will not tolerate very cold conditions, nor wet ones.

So, ... does anyone here grow this beauty? What sorts of conditions does it thrive in for you?

Thanks! :)

speedie - the cold hardness says it grows in zones 9a-11.
I don't think those zones get cold weather very often.

Really is an amazing bloom. Speediebean, I found this for you, looks like a native in Africa, however the photographer is in Greece. But is a warm climate flower...
