Could this be Sage?

Someone gave me a snip of this plant and said it was sage. Can you confirm that? If so, what type of sage is it before I ingest (in a cocktail). :-)

Aegis, it does not look like sage to me, but I know there are salvias with similar type of leaf. I expect longer, narrower leaves with a sort of fuzzy soft look and a really nice smell. When it comes to herbs, I use my nose a lot. I use sage with savories.

Try to post a larger photo; you may get more assistance.

you might want to post on the plant id forum.

It could be salvia sclarea, clary sage. If it is, then it's better in beer than in cocktails. ;-)

Haha thanks Susan, my husband will appreciate that.

This looks like perilla frutsceh, an Asian herb.
