Red abyssinian

Why does my red abyssinian have brown on the edges of leaves. I thought at first it was'nt getting enough water but now we have had plenty of rain.

I also have red abynissian banana that has the same problem. I am not worried about it, I remember last year it was the same but the succeeding leaves were okay as summer progressed.
