Planting a tree with no leaves?

I bought a flowering cherry tree earlier this spring but never got it in the ground :( It has lost all it's leaves and I am wondering if it will be okay to plant it or not. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you been watering it enough so that it doesn't dry out? Also what sun exposure does it have in its storage location?

It may be dead or dying. Is there a return on the plant from where you purchased it?
