My property seems to have had the privilege of being selected as Land Lubber grasshopper haven. We had a mild wet winter season so this spring I am suffering a hoard of these little monsters. I have just read that a product called NOLO could be a help in reducing at least future infestations, has anyone had experience with this product?
I think they are too far along in growth cycle for it to be effective this year, but I am willing to try anything at this point.
Anyone have experience with NOLO
You may want to check out this website as I heard Howard Garrett (the Dirt Doctor) just talking about grasshoppers on a podcast. And he's organic.

CindyM thank you. That was actually quite helpful
If you mow, start near the area you are trying to protect, and work your way away from it. If you do it the other way around, you can actually heard the grasshoppers toward your garden. Encourage bird habitat - migratory birds are insect eaters. If you till, try doing it this fall rather than next spring - it might help get rid of this years batch of eggs.

Check out this recent DG thread. It has nothing to do with NOLO...but it's another member with Grasshopper problems. Common Flour (the type that you bake with) has been found to be very helpful with Grasshopper infestations (I've also read it works well for aphids). Worth a try...
