Historics in raised beds????

Enid, OK

I am planning to start collecting historic irises starting with the oldest I can find and working my way up to about the 30's. With the Bermuda grass here I really think it would be easier to build beds. Does anyone else grow irises in raised beds? What type of soil has worked for you? Any suggestions would be appreciated as I am going to be in rush to get this done as soon as wheat harvest is over. I am ordering several rhizomes from the HIPS sale this year and will have to have a place ready for them.

regular garden soil with fertilizer is fine. raised beds helps with drainage.
