I planted two tiny ostrich fern roots last year. They both survived last season and the winter, and are bigger than last year. Still what I would call babies. Do they need fertilizer? These were roots from those spring boxes from Walmart. How long does it take for them to be full sized. They seem healthy, just tiny. Less than a foot tall.

Put them in a container so they can be babied for a year or two. I had 3 that struggled under trees for a few years. I dug them up finally and put them in a big container - they took off like rockets.

I bought one too over the winter on a clearance rack. I think the pot I put it in is probably too small. But still small like yours, and doing okay.
