The "brown" for compost

South Beach, OR(Zone 9a)

Hi all! I'm finally able to start composting. It will be a simple pile that I occasionally turn over into another pile, etc. My question is, aside from vegetable scraps, what type of paper can be added to the pile. I know shredded brown bags and cardboard, but what about paper towels? They are definitely the biggest wasted product in our house. If you'd like to direct me to a previous discussion, that would be fine, since I know this has probably been discussed endlessly. Thanks!

paper towels and paper napkins are fine.
I think newspaper is all printed with soy ink nowadays too, so it's fine.
This fall, make the most of dry tree leaves cuz they have more minerals and I would guess will support microorganisms better than paper too.

Thanks sally!
