funny green bug hiding in saliva

Neuss, Germany

hey, i have always thought this bubbly saliva on my plants and weed are the proof of snail existence on this plant..
little did i know that it is from a funny bug.
pls tell me what is this young green (should be) 6 legs bug is, and what it "contribution" to my garden. thanks.

the saliva was initially stick onto the plant, a clump of saliva on the leave or stems of plant.. and pay close attention, you will notice here is a green bug hiding inside the saliva..

i have removed the saliva from the stem of this plant, exposing the bug.. but in one of the photo, you can see how the bug hide in the saliva (i put the bug back into the saliva, but the saliva is on a plate).
*that's is not my saliva, it is the bubbly thing that looks like saliva which i initially seen.

Thanks.

Looks like a Spittlebug to me. I've never seen them before until your post. So I googled "Green bugs that hide in saliva on plants" and Spittlebugs was the common answer in the search results. Then I Searched "spittlebugs" in Google images and the results looks likes your picture.

Yep, spittlebug! I always get them on my rosemary and mexican primrose and have never seen them harm the plant. You can wash them off with the hose.
