I've caught the conifer bug

Niles, MI(Zone 5a)

Spent the day planting my new passion--conifers. Of course I like 'em odd. Here's some pics...

Thanks. I'll keep posting as I keep planting. I've got a slew of them to get in the ground...

Welcome to conifer addiction , it is a delightful malady. You might want to check out the American Conifer Society to connect with fellow addicts.

Cobra is pretty awesome. Thanks for sharing, I can't wait to see what it looks like in 5, 10 years. Keep updating this original post! Lol.

Niles, MI(Zone 5a)

I really am hoping to create a place where other enthusiasts can visit and enjoy. Gonna take a while but fun along the way...

Central, MD(Zone 7a)

Well I applaud you on your effort. It will be something else I'm sure. Maybe you will be known as the "other" man who loved conifers.

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

While not conifers...I'd offer that enthusiasts often appreciate diversity and companionship in plantings. There are a whole lot of things that help set off the consistency of conifers - not the least of which might include a viburnum or two...

Niles, MI(Zone 5a)

Hmmm. I'm sure next week I'll be on to something to compliment them.

Saint Louis, MO(Zone 6a)

How about some nice ginkgo's? You may not be aware there are some cool cultivars...
Oops, I guess they're also conifers.
Then, maybe pink flamingo's?

Niles, MI(Zone 5a)

Yeah, I have 31 different ginkgoes to work into the plan. Once the blisters callous up.

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

Make Weerobin cry by describing the Ginkgos you had to leave behind in Chicago...

Saint Louis, MO(Zone 6a)

I already heard the sad tale... very depressing.
But nothing like a blank palette to perk right back up!

I hope that wide open space behind monumentale isn't all yours ... ?
It might be time to investigate the 12 steps to conifer sobriety....

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

Since you slipped and fell off the conifer wagon with 'Monumentale' Sugar Maple...

Have you ever come across Acer saccharum 'Shawnee'? It is an Ohio River valley selection, and doesn't take up much space otherwise reserved for your garden variety evergreens...
