I picked up what I think is a nicely shaped "Ruby Stars". It is about 34" in height and I planted it about a week ago.
I am wondering what experience any of you have re the mature size of this dwarf variety.
(I see that it is likely the case that "Ruby Stars" is in fact a re-named "Beni Hoshi")
mature size of a "Ruby Stars"?
I think they are suppose to get 5' tall and not that wide - my hoshi is almost 4' now and a favorite.
Thanks for the reply 'wha'.
Could you elaborate on why you really like your BHoshi?
Do you know how old yours is and any chance of posting a picture or two?
if you look on the spring thread there is a picture there - the leaf shape is cool and it is a nice red/pink when it leafs, then gets darker with nice veining, and new leafs grow red/pink over the darker leafs. it is also has a nice compact shape.
