Thimbleweed, Anemone virginiansis, Eastern species

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Eastern native Quebec down to South over to Midwest, summer bloomer

I picked up one of these at a MD Master Gardeners plant sale.
It sounds like a lovely addition. Here's a link

Lady Bird Johnson center gave a bit of conflicting info as to whether it likes it dry or moist.

Anyone grow this?

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Sally, I expect that this comes as no surprise, but I grow Anemone virginiana. Mine does best in light shade, some sun, average water needs. Your coastal plain soil is so sandy I don't think you could over water it. My understanding is that it can take most any moisture condition once established. Photo from a previous year, currently too early for blooms.
