last year I had a bed of beautiful pink ornamental potatoes. I have been surprised this year with a bed of sprouts from potatoes apparently produced last year.
What I don't understand is why they are not pink but look like ordinary sweet potato vines. I thought sprouts from tubers would be a vegetative method of reproduction that should mimic the parent.
Can anyone answer that puzzle for me?
ornamental potatoes - do they resprout true to color
They could get the color you're expecting once they get older. Sometimes the new baby aren't the same as the mature ones.
