Found these guys several times on a thorn vine (that I need to get rid of) and cannot seem to figure out what they are. I am in Texas, zone 8.
Any ideas?
Didn't know if I should get rid of them with the vine, or wait...
Worm/caterpillar ID
Sure look like caterpillars to me. I am not sure what species of butterfly or moth they will grow into.
Caterpillars in general are pretty voracious, and may eat that vine you do not like, so I would tend to say, let them do their thing, then, when they have gone into hiding to pupate, remove the vine.
Post on hummingbird and butterfly forum. Quick id of cats there.
