Well, I did something wrong.
These leaves are from a 3' high lime tree that is all of a sudden dropping many leaves. There is some new growth and a few very small limes. If anyone can identify a problem, I'd appreciate it.

The photo showing the back of the leaf looks like a soft scale or mealybug infestation. You could start spraying with insecticidal soap, making sure to get the backs of the leaves.

Leaf loss:

Weather has been up and down here in the last few weeks, with some very cold weather, and just yesterday almost record heat (for this early in the year).

Are you monitoring the plant so that it has enough water? I have been watering my established trees already this year (I do not usually need to do this until about June).

Did you cover it in that really cold weather we had... was it a couple of weeks ago? Limes are not the best in cold weather.
