Plum passion hydrangea

Lake Stevens, WA(Zone 7b)

Has anyone grown Plum Passion Hydrangea or been tempted by it? It's new from Monrovia this year but it was introduced from China by Dan Hinkley. How can one resist purple leaves with a rosy purple underside and great fall color to boot? I just found one at a garden center- I think I'll give it a try.

That is stunning!!! And I haven't even seen the flower yet!!! Yowza!!! So.... Is it a lace cap?! Please say yes! Is it blue?! Or purple?! Oh I can dream!! But a nice big white panicle would be stunning with the dark foliage too... Or maybe a fuschia double mophead.... Lol I should just start hybridizing I dream in hydrangea colors! :)
