Hi Guys,
This is a duplicate thread - I originally posted this on the Tropical forum, and then realised that there was a Tropical Fruit forum.
Okay...
So, Jake & I planted a mango seed (store bought - Asian grocer) about 5 weeks ago, and to our surprise it has sprouted 2 or 3 shoots. The first one to shoot up, was the light green one that we suspect isn't a mango tree. The second one was the bigger, darker leaf one - it shot up with 3 leaves. The third one shot up this morning with 4 developing leaves. Does anyone know what has happened and why the one seed has multiple shoots?
What do I do about this?
Cheers,
Jakometes
What Has Happened! Double Mango Sprout From ONE SEED! Crazy!
They have multiple embryoes in each seedcase. You usually just let the strongest one grow or you can gently separate them.
