This begonia has developed a nice caudex over the years. It's about 6" in diameter now and is just showing buds of new growth. Looks a lot like a Sinningia. I keep it completely dry in winter and water sparingly in summer. It flowers prolifically!
Not sure if I have the species name correct. If I've made an error, let me know?!
Begonia boliviensis
Very pretty flowers.
Very bright orange/red. Thanks!
I wish I could grow that begonia here in Phoenix. I imagine it needs more humidity than I can muster!
I am not sure Nancy. When I have tried tuberous begonias they all seem to rot. Maybe I will try another in s/h. That might work.
Gorgeous flowers.
