Here is Van Sion blooming in Tennessee. This nice bulb came from a grower in Pennsylvania, but my garden also includes locally grown heirloom examples that are also just opening.

I'm in Tennessee and zone 7. Here is a picture with the sun out. It was taken March 12. This bulb is growing in a container which was buried in sand and leaf mulch over the winter. I have pulled it out of its burial spot now for a closer look.
