Burnishing

Stafford, VA(Zone 7a)

Afternoon Clay Angels!
Hope this finds everyone happy an din good spirits.
I took a few more pieces down to my mentor's gallery for her Board to look at... I haven't heard back yet. This is the 2nd time I have tried. so we'll see.

Anyway while there I was looking at come of Chris's pieces that she had burnished and smoke fired. I haven't done a trash can smoke firing in a few years but I am going to try it again. I have several red clay pieces that are drying and I am starting to burnish.

I am using a smooth stone, and the back of a spoon..... what do you all use to burnish? I also have a Chamois cloth and a small rounded mortar and pestal piece.
