For Beth.

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

I put this on another forum, which I thought would be a little more appropriate, but I'm definitely linking it here, since this is my DG home! Sometimes it's hard to be and stay positive, due to what life throws at you, but I'm trying...I really truly am.

Thom there isn't much to say in situations like this but I am truly sorry you have to go through it. I'll keep you and your sister in my prayers. It sounds like you have a wonderful family, may you find some comfort in your sister's love.

Durhamville, NY(Zone 5b)

You have my heartfelt condolences.

Thom, I am so sorry. As a sister who just went through this in Oct with my brother my best advice to you is spend every moment you can, say everything you ever wanted to say but was afraid to, and tell her what having her in your life has meant. I did and I have no regrets. My prayers are with you and my heart breaks for you and your family for what you have gone through and what you still have to endure.

Thom, I am praying that God wraps his arms around you & your entire family.....Beth will always be with you in spirit, helping you to remember the good times.

So sorry for your and her family's loss.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - so sorry, Thom. Prayers are with you and your family. Hits home as my wife had a mole removed a bit over a year ago that was MM. Very scary.

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

Thank you all :-) Just came back from the hospital, had to let the poor dogs out. I'll be heading back down. From taking care of the elderly and working with hospice, I have a gut feeling that Beth may be going for her forever sleep sometime today, or tomorrow.

I did say as much as I could to her, Beth was never a mushy person...not that one needs to be mushy to have mush put upon them. I have no regrets regarding "shoulda, coulda, or wouldas." I just wish the lingering was so linger-y.

Pix, I may be sending you a dmail or two after all is said and done. Tom and I created an iMovie in memorial to Beth; downloading and listening to all of the songs that go with it was one of the toughest things I've had to do in recent memory.

Victor, MM is scary. I've learned lots about it over these past couple weeks. Dr. Lynn Schucter is the melanoma specialist we went to at U of Penn. I'm sure if you, your wife, or family needed any questions, her or her staff would be able to direct you to where you would need to go.

I really do thank you all so much. Sometimes "holding it together" can be exhausting.

Nothing wrong in "not" holding it together either Thom...let go when your ready, only you will know when it's time.

Hi NE people!

Last night, at or around 8pm, Beth took her last breath. She seemed to wait for me to get there to do it.

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear Thom, prayers for all of you.
