Christmas Decorations

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Allison - how many years have you been using LED lights now? Ever have to replace any bulbs yet??

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

cool!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

several years.. and yes.. but the new light keeper we bought allows you to cut out the bad bulb & have a dead spot where the bad one is.. once one bulb goes bad it pulls the rest of the string down.. something with the current being interrupted.. some sets have it that you can change the bulbs out.. but they are more expensive of course.. the flex change are nice because you don't need to put the same color bulb in it's place.. has it's own resistor in each casing.. worth the extra money for

and this is what I mean Bill.. this person in an imagineer for Disney.. can't compete with guitar hero!!!

Yours are better Allison, more "real" if you ask me!!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Yes, more real. You said it, Ronnie.

Good luck, Allison!

Love your tree, Jo!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yeah, there comes a point beyond which it's just 'too much' for an individual's display and it looks like a professional job with a big budget and staff.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

there are a lot like that too... Holdman puts up 6 of the big mega trees we are doing 1 of.. but his are 3 times bigger.. he has a piece of property like Celeste.. and just does the whole field ... but these are the guys I am learning from.. we all chat on forums like DG.. wish I knew how that guy does the singing snowman.. so I could do it smaller.. LOL

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Loved Guitar Hero!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

there is an angry birds too.. but I do learn a lot from those guys.. and Holdman also lists a ton of sequences you can download off his website.. so they do share there how to advice.. and always willing to answer questions

WOW Allison. Alas there will never be a Disney animee here.

Thomaston, CT

Some of those displays are gorgeous, but they look professional.....simple, homey stuff is what I like best....

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

a bunch of these guys decorate for malls & mansions now.. started off just doing there homes

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Allison - all my LEDs are the ones with 'standard' size bulbs - C6, C7, etc., that can be changed out. Have you had to replace any of them?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the first few commercial strings we bought were garbage.. can't change the bulbs.. but that new light keeper will fix it.. you cut the bulb out and put in a connection pod.. works great.. we are done with incandescent lights .. the new LED lights are so much better.. and brighter.. the wide angle are my favorite .. blinding bright

Made these for church Christmas brunch, forgot to take a pic of the centerpieces....NUTS

Those look nice, Jen...I like using natural stuff.....

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

very pretty Jen!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

NIce!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

OMG .. someone just knocked on my door and asked me to put the lights on.. lucky I didn't call the cops.. sheesh.. just told him that we wouldn't be ready until the weekend.. and said sorry.. guess since he saw me though the window he felt like he should ask.. (wrapping lights around wire running down the dinning room) feel kind of bad.. but wow lucky I am not in Garfield.. different frame of mind there.. some stranger knocks on your door and get a gun in your face.. can't say I was comfortable opening the door.. told Randy to put the radio sign on tomorrow and I will put a message on there to check the facebook page for when the show starts

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Geez what's with people? I would never go and knock on someone's door and ask them to do that, when you see the lights aren't on you come back another day, geez!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I wouldn't either.. we drove 45 mins to see a house and it wasn't lit up.. we went home again.. some people won't run the lights when it rains.. that house was the case.. and the reason we tape every cord.. no need to worry about rain

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Pretty Jen, are they battery operated lights?
Allison I guess they were just anxious to see your great work! Still nervy though :-)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yes they are battery operated lights

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow, people are pushy.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

was almost tempted to say .. come in and help me wrap these lights.. will get done quicker.. LOL

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Im going to start making these this week, it's been cold enough with the exception of yesterday and today. I'll keep them in the freezer until the 20th of Dec. Then i'll use them to line a pathway to the door. ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cool!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Very nice, Jen

Those frozen balls look so very fun!

I can't imagine ever knocking on someone's door for a request like that

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

allison i would take that as a complement.

Thomaston, CT

Scary, though....too many nuts out there....Pixie, love those!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

can't wait to see them Celeste!!!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Love the ice balls idea, Celeste!

Jen, your decorations turned out great. I'll bet everyone loved them.
