Converting a Dip to a Tet

Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

I know this has been posted before but I don't where & I want to convert a dip to a tet. I know you use chemicals that are dangerious if not used right. Does anyone know how to do this or know anyone that has done it. I want to convert the old Monica Marie to a tet. I bought Monica Marie & the Hybridizer says it is a tet but it is a dip told to me by one of the best Hybridizers.

Roseman2, how about asking said Hybridizer ? Just a thought.

Found this old thread from searching for conversions. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/472053/?hl=converting+dips

If you know for a fact your plant is a DIP, then someone sold you the wrong plant. She is for sure a TET. You dont happen to have a picture of yours do you?

Garden.. Gates was the hybridzier of Monica Marie & he posted it as a tet buy it is a dip & it has been convered to a tet & I found out mine has never been covered yet. I found this out by the seller that sold it to me.

It would actually be a whole lot faster and cheaper to just buy the TET. It can take a year or longer to get a conversion and then there is still no guarantee that it took or will not convert back. You have to wait for it to bloom so the pollen can be checked under a microscope (most accurate way) to make sure it was actually converted. Sometimes you may think it got converted but it may not be 100% which means it more than likely will convert back. Also, you will need to make sure you have quite a few fans of the plant you want converted because a lot more fans are killed than actually get converted.

I have a DIP that is registered as a DIP, but I have seeds and seedlings ( I hope will bloom next year) out of it that is DIP and TET. I do know the hybridizer has a converted version of this plant so I assume the ones being sold as DIPs didn't take, but still have remnants of the TET in it.
