Free pallets from Lowe's

Apparently most of the uniform and heavy-duty pallets have to be returned, but they get TONS of pallets of off-sizes and shapes that do not. My Lowe's was happy to give me half a dozen pallets for nothing.

I knocked a couple of them apart, used pieces to fill in the gaps, and used loops of wire to hook the corners together. And presto...

"Free" 3'x4'x3' compost bin. When I get ambitious, I'll go back for 3+ more and make it a two-bin compost bin.

Adding dog poop, will empty annuals containers when we get our first frost, and whatever else looks like it will rot...

Just make sure it gets hot enough to kill the dog poop pathogens...

Everything I've read about composting states that you should never add dog poop to your compost bin.

Might also use pallet wood for raised bed edging.
