Variance in peony colors

This is driving me nuts. I bought this peony from Adelman's, called Miss America. A very simple white form in their picture. Here is what bloomed. I love it so no complaints but how can they vary so much? These were taken within a couple of days of each other. I have no doubt that I got what I ordered. Adelman's is very professional.

Send them a picture of both. Peonies do vary in color and sometimes shape the first years after being divided. I see fade in the first picture.

Of course breeders look for plants or sections of plants that are different then separate the difference and grow to see if difference is stable and if it is commerical value.

Oh, I agree. I have pictures of a dahlia called Procyon. I had one tuber that I divided and ended up with slightly different flowers. the pictures are of the two procyons and a Kaiser Wilhelm.
