Pyrenacantha malvifolia

Yardley, PA

Had this in the ground for the summer and it must have grown a 1/3 bigger. It is so fun at the end of the season to see how much growth I get on them.
Now I have to find a pot for this big boy.

How wide is that caudex Sally? Looks wonderful!

Phoenix, AZ

That is a happy plant!

Decatur, GA

I would like to know the size of the caudex. Mine is about about 21/2 inches wide and maybe 31/2 inches tall. The plant has produced sterile 'berries', typical of the plant.

The caudex is about 19" around and 9" tall. I just took it out of the ground and it must have doubled in size!

Oh, my goodness, that is so big! It looks so happy right now. When do you take it in under the lights?

Yardley, PA

I just dug it up today out of the garden and brought it in. I couldn't believe how much it grew.

How fun! It's like a surprise present! Was that the biggest caudex you dug up?

Decatur, GA

That is HUGE!! Mine is very puny in comparison. I must try your garden planting method next year Sally.

Yardley, PA

Yes, that was the biggest but the Jatropha podagrica must have tripled in size one year.
