A compact plant with several fruits.
Indigo Rose pics
Looks interesting. How does it taste?
It looks like the OSU people weren't satisfied with OSU blue and wanted something purple all over!

Oh my. Eggplant colored tomatoes!
Are those tomatoes ripe?
My Indigo rose tomatoes were purple and red when ripe.

I don't think so. If they were Dancing With the Smurfs I would definitely say no, but first year to grow these. Guess I should cut one and see.
They look kind of bizarre - even to me, with my strong preference to the dark varieties. Most important, though - how do they taste? (And what size are they? Hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like a cherry or possibly a saladette?)
I have ten plants of Indigo Black which have tomatoes upwards of three inches in diameter and they are still as hard as a rock. Not having raised black tomatoes before, I don't have a clue as to when they are ripe. Since color doesn't seem to be an indicator, shouldn't they be somewhat soft touch???
When growing tomatoes of different colors, I always tell people to close their eyes and feel them. Should feel like a ripe tomato! I do find that the darks are sometimes a bit firmer, but certainly not hard as a rock!
I'm anxious to hear some taste reports!

not to worry. My Indigo Rose tomatoes also were hard like a rock forever.
When they finally started to turn color they split from the rain and heat.
This tomato is a "NO" in my garden.
