Dickcissel (Spiza americana)
It is now winter, so these fellows are gone for the season. I remember this one specifically. It was the first time being so close to a Dickcissel when he sang. His little head bobs up and down as he sings.

I've been really disgruntled with weed trees lately, mulberry in particular. But you know what? If we had no weed trees, it's possible the Dickcissels would not nest here. They like short shrubs, nesting only about two feet above ground.
