I've been trying to verify her name; she has dark velvety liver red blooms.

Is this Julia Correvon?
It looks very dark to me though most sites say climate can affect color. Here's the Brushwood page on it:
Too dark to be Mme Julia, although I will tell you, I love the color of your clematis. Looks like some type of viticella to me.
My pictures are of Mme Julia. She is almost a cherry red.
