nicotiana in partial shade

Boston, MA

I have read that nicotiana can be successful in partial shade. . Got some good info from another gardener on here and would like to get as much as i can . Particularly : recommendations on varieties -that might do well. Also ... success in containers?? and starting seeds indoors
Thanks very much for help

You need to talk to Onewish1 ~ Allison, she grows them every year and has great results!!!

I have grown woodland nicotiana on the east side of the house....it grows about 4' tall, white & scented....reseeds all over the place...has become a pest, but pulls out easily.....

perfect mix is my favorite http://www.seedsavers.org/Details.aspx?itemNo=15%28OG%29

I have grown these in the past.. they all do great in containers.. part shade.. if you start them indoors they will flower a lot sooner.. but I have WS'ed them .. they grow nicely.. but just flower later on
