Home phone, landline versus Magioc Jack?

DH is dying to drop the home phone since we all have cells. I resist because
- you always know where the home phone is
- people know our home phone number
- relatives might be more reluctant to have to call one or another cell number than just call the house number and know that more than one person might be able to answer
-keeping the cell phone at hand all the time

Has anyone tried the Magic Jack thing? Or have you gone "all cell phone" and how do you like it?
