Hey guys just wanted to share the news that I have successfully rooted a cutting (well a small branch that broke off my tree in transit)
I prepared the broken piece slicing at an angle past the 3rd node. The 3rd node was scraped and then dipped in rooting powder. After that it was placed into moist mix and a dome put over it to form a green house.
I have active growth on two branche -. over 1/4" now forming new leaves :) I slid out the dirt also and saw white roots.
Has anyone rooted shichihenge before?
Beni Shichihenge rooted from cutting
that looks very healthy - many here in the past have said that jm from cuttings rarely survive to be trees - it will be interesting to see how yours makes out.
i've read the same things, wha. i'm interested as well.
