Any folks in the Triangle had the unfortunate RRD showup in their garden?
I recently discovered the red, furry and thorny infected canes on two roses.
Decided to remove them from a bed of six roses just to be safe.
Now I'm fearing that my climbers may be infected too, but maybe it's just new growth?
I wish I had taken pictures before they were burned now...
Rose Rosette Disease in Raleigh
You may be correct .. it's been found in Asheville.

Well, I know it's in VA and TN, I just haven't seen anything local, even from NC State about RRD.
Last spring we did have a nasty tornado tear thru our neighborhood after hitting the Midwest, sometimes I wonder if those wingless mites caught a ride...
It's been a sad week to say the least. I knocked down a nearby rose and waiting to see if it sprouts the witches broom or any weird growth.
Now I'm just hoping the red leaves on my beloved thornless Zephie climber is ok too, ergh. I've got paranoid eyes!
