Need help creating invitation

Anyone have any experience creating invitations? I am looking for a coffee themed invitation for a rehearsal dinner.... I kinda know what I want, but I am not sure how to set it up (what program to utilize, etc) or how to accomplish the printing. The one I want has a mostly brown background? Should I just purchase ivory or white cardstock and try to set the background as brown when I set it up? or do I try to print on brown stock? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am on a big time crunch and don't really have time to mess up several times!


Also, any great sources for card stock and envelopes at a reasonable price??
