You Need to Sign-Up by Friday, May 25th, 2012 at 11:59 PM.
(Just Before the Stroke of Midnight)
To Participate You Also Must D-Mail Me All Your Information Before the Closing Date/Time.
I Will be D-Mailing the Name of Your 'Secret Hosta Swap' Participants Name that You Will be Sending Your Hosta(s) to...Saturday, May 26th, 2012.
This 'Secret Hosta Swap' is for Sending...
...at Least One(1) Named Hosta Plant.
(You are Allowed to Send More if you Choose but...You Must Send at Least One(1) Healthy, Disease Free, Named Variety of Hosta, with at Least One(1) Eye and Sufficient Roots for Planting).
There has been Much Discussion Here and Other Forum Sites on HVX and Foliar Nematodes. If You are Suspicious of Any Hostas You Have...Please Do Not Share those in Question with Your Fellow Hosta Friends. Please Only Send a Hosta(s) that You Would be Happy to Receive and Plant in Your Garden.

But really, I would be happy to received any named hostas not already in my garden!
For my part, I can divide Krossa Regal, Maraschino Cherry, Night Before Christmas, plantaginea, and U. Erromena. Or go shopping and find something at my favorite local nursery!
Plus I already have some Francee, Gold Standard, Golden Tiara, Hyacinthina, Royal Standard, Sum and Substance, and U Univitatta ready to share if my recipient doesn't have them yet.

I have a new large shade bed that I am wanting to get lots of hosta's for. I love the 'different' types of hosta for this bed. I really like the blues too. I lost Halcyon & Invincible, I guess, from the terrible summer heat and drought we had last year. I have a few mini's in another bed and that is why I have included the Mouse Ears selections.

Thanks for the d-mail Lelan, I missed the post. Count me in! I have just moved and since my beautiful hosta garden was a selling point for our home, I wasn't able to take any with me.....so yes I am starting over. Our weather is so crazy it is hard for me to remember it is still May, I have daylilies and lilies in bloom already, and mums...rofl..
The deer have had nightly feasts nibbling on several Hostas and apologize in advance to my secret buddy if I include any of them.
How I envy a lot of you having so many! We have very little shade or part shade and the list of mine ready to divide is short and sweet.

Fruity, have you tried putting human hair around your hosta to try to deter the deer. I clean my brush and put what is in there in a plastic sack and keep it under my cabinet. I do this all year round. Then if I need more, my neighbor/stylist will keep clippings for me from her shop. It sure wouldn't hurt anything to try it. ^_^

I got my name and read the wants list. I think I can accomodate my buddy very well! I'm looking forward to the larger hosta in my front shade bed that get large. They have LOTS of room to spread out!
No, I haven't, Patti, but that's a tip I'll try. I'm assuming you've had good success? Plus it's free compared to pricey bottles of Liquid Deer Fence. I stopped buying them after I read the ingredients.....over 90% water. 95% if I remember correctly. I've even considered purchasing deer and rabbit predator urine. Those are definitely deer tracks in my Hosta bed along with areas they've pawed in the mulch, and have only seen a couple of bunnies this year that thankfully weren't in our yard.
