Soursop (Annona muricata)

noonamah, Australia

Another of my tropical fruits, Soursop (Annona muricata). This one caused me a bit of a dilemma. Self sown, it's too close to other trees. One being a self sown Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus), another a White Champaca (Magnolia × alba) growing in between them. The White Champaca has a fragrance to die for, so it stays. Another Soursop I had died when the automatic irrigation played up so I only have this one. I've a number of large Jackfruit so looks like the Jackfruit will be the one to go.

The Soursop flower, which appears to be a composite flower surrounded by a thick green petal or bract, not sure which. It's just flowering now so no fruit for a while yet. There's a Green Tree Ant, Oecophylla smaragdina, standing guard on a new developing bud in the last photo.
