My Clethra 'Ruby Spice' has begun to leaf out earlier than usual this year with the handful of warm spells. We're now due for a handful of days with a high likelihood of freezing/frost. The forecast is calling for lows anywhere between 29-34 over the weekend. The bush actually looks great this year after two disappointing seasons marked by winter die-off and severe insect damage.
Will covering it with a regular sheet do enough to protect it from the cold or should I try other interventions? Any advice is greatly welcome!
Frost/Freeze Warning & Clethra
Using a sheet will help a lot.
The Deer are my worst enemy for that plant!
