Diatomaceous earth will it hurt?

I have Chickens that I use diatomaceous earth in their yard and coupe. I also use the duff and droppings in my garden. My questions is the DE going to affect my composting ?as in killing the microorganisms that make compost?

This link says diatomaceous earth is not harmful to earthworms or micro-organisms.

Just be sure you don't breath it in - it's harmful to your lungs.
