I have a 20 ft. Champaca tree that has dropped all but a very few leaves in the past several months. Many of the branches are dead, brittle wood at the ends. I pruned off most of the dead wood, back to the trunk. New leaves have come out in the last couple of weeks, but not a lot, and I'm continuing to find more dead wood- always starting at the tips of branches. Past winter/springs have not had this much leaf drop. I keep the soil moist. It registers as alkaline on a ph meter, so I added some amendments to the soil about a month ago.
