Deformed Daffodils and Tulips - PLEASE HELP!

Nashville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hi,

I planted several bulbs two years ago, which all grew and bloomed in perfect health last year. This year, however, there is definitely a problem. The daffodil flowers are much smaller and blooming near the BOTTOM of the leaves. As for the tulips, the flower stems/buds haven't emerged yet, but the leaves are stunted, a bit twisted, and look, well, "beaten up". Do any of you know what could be causing these problems? I have read that mites can cause such damage. If that is the problem, is there anything I can do to treat for mites and help the bulbs for next year, or must they be disposed?

We have had an extremely warm winter this year, and I first thought this could be the reason for the deformed growth, but it seems everyone else's bulbs/flowers around here look perfectly normal. It's really sad to see them this way :(

Thanks for any advice you have to share.
