OK, it is a house plant but I'll try the thread here first. 3 new plants today from Home Depot, $25. 8" pot (about 2' foot tall) Cirtus marked down to $5. Healthy just not beautiful, symmetric anymore. #1 = Nagami Kumquat, Furtunella Marita - Nagumi. #2 = Eustus Limequat, W. Indian Lime X Marumi Kumquat. #3 = Unkown. Spines, small leaf groups of 3. Any IDea?

That looks like the rootstock. Is it coming from a branch at the base of the trunk below the graft mark?
It is probably Sour Orange rootstock or Trifoliata.
Both are pretty much inedible.
That's it exactly. The top died and they let the rootstock grow. Thanks. It's zone 5 so I am going to put it outside in a couple of months.
