urtricularia

north coast nsw, Australia

Found heaps of this growing wild in most of our rivers. Interesting hey how it has little traps under water. Must be small water bugs they trap.

Breeindy, you'll find that's Aldrovanda vesiculosa, not a Utricularia. It's the most widespread carnivorous plant on the planet, but is being wiped out by pollution from nearby human activity. There's a red form which very popular with CP enthusiasts.

This is Aldrovanda Vesiculosa the water wheel plant because of how the traps sit but the one i have doesn't have the traps like that???

I'd guess Utricularia Australis without seeing its flowers.

This is the closest photos I could find of the U. australis plant.
