I bought lavender seeds from the US but have not been successful in propagation. The plants that I bought from a nursery here in the Philippines is now growing. My dream is to have a lavender field here in the mountains which is 2000 ft above sea level.
Lavender propagation
Semi-woody stem cuttings work well.
You might try Lavandula dentata, which grows well in the tropics.
Thanks for your info. The seeds I have are munstead, Spanish lavender. Is there a technique that I should follow to make them germinate.
I have some grosso lavender plants that I need to cut back after they finish blooming .... is it possible to root the cuttings? I would love to be able to replant some areas where I have lost plants in past years. One plant has overgrown onto my patio. That is what needs to be cut... quite a lot needs to be cut back. I have considered attempting 'layering' to start rooting if that might be possible ... the plants have grown about 2 feet laying flat on the cement patio! LOL
