Bobbin Question

I have a Husqvarna Viking 200 sewing machine. When I place the wound bobbin in the machine, and draw the thread through the feed, the thread stays on top of the bobbin. It sews this way, but it doesn't look right to me. Does anyone have this machine ? Is the thread supposed to stay on top of the bobbin ?
