Every growing community needs a leader

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

The thought occurred to me today that the “Northeast Gardening Forum” needs leadership. Being an ever growing community, we have reached the pivotal point of either greatness or flash mob.
We need someone who can lead the forum through their wisdom and vast experience, someone who has shown courage and the ability to make insightful decisions. A person of unquestioned moral standing. Someone who we would be proud to call a friend (and loan money to). Someone who has the heart of a lion, the distant sight of an eagle, the strength of the mighty elephant!
WHAT THIS FORUM NEEDS IS A MAYOR!
Having said this I now admit that I have spent many hours taking all these factors in consideration and have applied them to many individuals. Following is a list of the people that I would consider most qualified for this prestigious appointment.

Bozo the clown
Lady GaGa
Popeye the Sailor
Victorgardener
Big Bird
Kim Kardashian
My Cat

I think you will agree that this list composes the absolute pinnacle of possible mayoral choices.
I hope you will give serious consideration to these choices.
Of course any other person who you would think of as the official, unofficial, mayor of the Northeast Gardening Forum” would be welcome.

I'll take the job if you deliver Kim Kardaahian as my full-time assistant.

Thanks Chuck, but I think we're doing just fine as is. As Groucho once said, I would never join any club that would have me as a member. ^_^

Remember, no politics on this site! And my vote is secret, unlike in our town's voting booths where anyone can look over your shoulder & see your choices!

...but if I ruled a mythical kingdom, I would:

Outlaw lawns, make everyone grow food, order cisterns on all property, eliminate Mondays, get rid of pennies, have explosive devices put in cell phones that detonate when used by drivers, make petty criminals clean the streets - in the nude, get rid of tolls, get rid of coupons, declare Bohemian Rhapsody the official song, appoint Allison Secretary of Decoration, have kid-free days at Disney and, of course, kill the lawyers.

I'm sure there are many others, but that should get us off to a good start.

We use to have an elderly semi-homeless lady in town. Her name was Margret and she spent most of her time parading up and down main street giving hell to anyone and everyone she met. She was most remembered during election times as she voted. It didn't matter if its was a Presidential election or one to elect the dog catcher. Margret would yell out in the voting polls, "where the hell is Roosevelt's name? We haven't had a President worth a s--t since Roosevelt. Well I'm going to vote for him anyways, how do you spell Roosevelt?"
Some one always helped her to right in Roosevelt on her ballot and she would leave having done her civic duty. If I remember correctly Roosevelt was only one vote behind Alfred E. Neuman for president one year.

Victor, I just got off the phone with Kim Kardashian. She said she would love to be your assistant but she could only be available for 79 days.

That's okay. That's longer than her marriage lasted.

Can your cat type on the computer? and does S/he know about any other plants than catnip?

Loved the story about Margret......we had a woman in town who drove one of the school buses....her opinions were heard loudly & clearly no matter where she went...I used to cringe in embarrassment when I heard her....now, I'm getting more & more like her.....

Hee hee! Supposedly, we get more disinhibited as we age. I look forward to that aspect!

Don't look now, Victor, but......
