Callout: all who have sow and grow Gynostemma pentaphyllum, I am about to sow. Waiting for seeds. I intend to grow and harvest leaves to tea. Good for health.
Gynostemma pentaphyllum
You're absolutely correct, but you will need male and female plants to produce seed. Also, you'll need a lot of space, these plants grow like crazy. (They can take over areas, like grapevines do). They are very easy to grow.
Thanks for answer Cyra, I grow in pots, so it will not take ower here. I grow it on my porsch. And have the pot in the garage, dormant during the winter. It will not survive our winter outside in Sweden.
The seeds are very virable, I sow seeds from 2011 this spring and thet sprout well. I grow it like a climbing plant in the window of my porsch and harvest leaf all time long during the summer and dry for tea.
