Thanks again.yeah i use that website for info aswell and it does look like it is the palm. I find it quite tough to identify palms as Thai names do not always translate.
I have one a little larger than that and I've always thought it was L. rotundifolia. Some Livistonas can be a bit difficult to tell apart.
The correct name is Livistona rotundifolia. Its local name in the Philippines is Anahaw (Livistona rotundifolia var. luzonensis), and there may be other variants in Southeast Asia where the species is endemic. It's a nice potted house plant while it is small; planted on the ground it will grow up to 3 stories high or more, with a straight trunk more or less as thick as that of a mature coconut tree trunk.
