I'm trying to ID what kind of animal this jaw bone is from. I found it under the pine trees in the back yard. Some critter must have dropped it from above because it was just sitting there. The teeth are loose. Two shots showing both sides of the right side of the lower jaw. It's over 7 inches long, I suspect a large dog but small horses used to be boarded nearby.
Any ideas?

Jaws
Probably a deer.
The toothless front part of the jaw indicates it is a ruminant herbivore, not a dog or horse.

Thanks, Resin. I live in the city but there are woods nearby.

Second thoughts - been looking at pics, it is too thick for a deer, a pig jawbone is a much better fit. Presumably dropped by a scavenger that had picked it up off a garbage dump.
